About Just Brit, Thanks

Just Brit, Thanks was created at the intersection of lived experience and structural awareness.

After more than a decade working as a nanny, postpartum doula, and educator, across high-profile households, travel roles, and long-term placements, I began to see a pattern.

The childcare industry is intimate, essential, and deeply relational. It is also structurally unstable.

  • Ambiguous contracts.

  • Housing tied to employment.

  • Scope creep.

  • Burnout.

  • Lack of oversight.

  • Unspoken power dynamics.

Families deserve clarity. Nannies deserve protection. Agencies deserve better frameworks.

I created Just Brit, Thanks to help bridge those gaps.

The Mission

To strengthen the foundation of domestic labor by centering dignity, transparency, and structural safety, while honoring the full humanity of caregivers and families.

This work is rooted in:

  • Authenticity:  honoring the real lived experiences of nannies and parents

  • Intentional connection:  building relationships grounded in clarity and mutual respect

  • Advocacy for equity: especially for Black and Brown caregivers whose labor has historically sustained this industry

  • Compassionate accountability: naming problems without dehumanizing anyone involved

  • Creative freedom: recognizing that care work is relational, intellectual, and deeply skilled

What I Do

I work at the systems level and the human level

  • I support nannies in navigating contracts, boundaries, and long-term career sustainability.

  • I educate families on ethical hiring, fair pay, and relational clarity.

  • I collaborate with agencies and industry leaders to strengthen professional standards.

  • I document and analyze patterns in domestic labor to advocate for structural reform.

This is not coaching.

This is not content for content’s sake.

It is applied field research, lived expertise, and a commitment to making care work safer and more sustainable for everyone involved.

Why This Matters

Care is infrastructure.

Black women, in particular, have long been the invisible architecture holding households and economies together.

That history deserves acknowledgment.

That labor deserves protection.

That future deserves structure.

Just Brit, Thanks exists to make sure care work is treated with the seriousness it requires.
